They are generated from listings in Google's Business listing Directory. These are free listings. Every business can and should enter their company information within this online directory.

Now I purposely left up this graphic showing 10 search engine results for this search. Google though has just recently changed it to simply show 7!  Can you see how the local search gets more competitive every single day?

Three businesses that were in that listing one day were instantly taken off the first page of search results. If you haven't created your Google local listing you want to look into this right away.

I won't lie to you, there are numerous of things YOU MUST do to be among the businesses listed in the '7-box' mostcurrent listings for a specific search.  It's too much to go into here but I'll provide you more information later on what you need do to rank for your local listing within the '7-box' .
